Why do we love it, you ask?
The winemakers at La La Land have gone a little Ga Ga for their Malbec. And rightly so – this big and juicy wine is made to be shared, rugged up outside with friends, eating the meatiest meat you can get hold of and outdoing each other with adventure stories. It is also not a bad one to open in bed and share with that someone special right there under the covers. Just maybe turn the bottle around so El Loco on the label isn’t watching over you.
This wine is going to make these types of food delish…and vice versa!
The long version.
Impress your friends. Impress yourself.
Region: Murray Darling
Fermented in sweeping-arm Potter fermenters for thirteen days and matured in French oak for 10 months.
Ruby red in appearance, with bold flavours and a broody personality, this alluring red boasts red cherry, blackberry and light violet aromas all underpinned by spicy mocha. Forest fruits flirt with exotic spice on the palate teaming up with splashes of dark chocolate and savoury herbs. It’s a powerful red, made to be shared
Enjoy now or if you can hold out, El Loco will develop over the next ten years.
Mock the quirky, fantastical label if you must but do embrace your inner imaginary friend so the two of you can polish off a bottle of this over a few plates of tapas. Effortlessly gluggable, generous with blackberry and bright, red cherry, a smidgen of choc-vanilla and a good savoury kick. Lighter in body than is typical for most Malbecs, but all the better for it. (4.5 Stars)
